Hi, I’m Saffron.
BSc, MA Counselling Psychology | Registered Clinical Counsellor EMDR Therapist | Critical Incident Coordinator
I believe you already carry more strength, wisdom, and resilience than might think—and I’m here to help you reconnect with that while letting go of what has kept you stuck.
How I might help
If you’ve been feeling disconnected from who you thought you were, judged by your inner critic, overwhelmed by trauma, or stuck at a turning point in life, you’re not alone—and there is a path forward.
I offer a relational, trauma-informed space anchored by safety, connection, and compassion. Together, we’ll explore what makes you and your story unique— including your thoughts, feelings, somatics, and history. My goal is to support you in feeling lighter, more self-aware, and more aligned with your authentic self.
About Me
I am a cis-female settler, born and raised in Vancouver (unceded and ancestral Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh, and Musqueam Territory) and am grateful to continue living here.
I completed my Masters in Counselling Psychology and worked as a research assistant at UBC for over 5 years, exploring the personality traits of Perfectionism, Narcissism, and Loyalty. I've completed several post-graduate clinical trainings in and always strive to keep learning and bettering my practice.
In addition to my education, I have worked for several years with the BC Emergency in emergency in dispatch operations and as a critical incident stress coordinator. I have a lot of experience working with folks at all levels of health care.
My clients describe me as gentle and personable, with a nice blend of warmth and straightforwardness.
Who I Work With
I welcome diverse clients of all ages, cultures, genders, sexual orientations, and abilities, particularly those navigating:
Anxiety, depression
Perfectionism & self-esteem
Trauma, PTSD, c-PTSD,
Relationship / attachment wounds
Identity exploration (gender, culture, sexuality, neurodivergence)
Medical trauma and chronic health challenges
Life transitions, loss, or personal growth
My Therapeutic Style & Modalities
I work from an integrative, individualized approach, drawing from:
EMDR
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Psychodynamic & Control Mastery Theory
AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy)
Attachment-oriented, person-centred work
Somatic & mindfulness-based practices
Cognitive-behavioural and strengths-based strategies
Sessions adapt to what you need—sometimes deeply emotional, sometimes reflective, sometimes strategy-focused. Your voice and feedback guide the process.
First Responders & Healthcare Professionals
As both a Registered Clinical Counsellor and an emergency service member, I bring lived knowledge of first responder culture—the bonds, the humour, and the heavy load of trauma, cumulative stress, and moral injury.
At BC Emergency Health Services, I’ve worked as a Patient Transfer Coordinator, Preceptor, and Critical Incident Stress Coordinator, supporting colleagues after critical events. I also draw on my background in psychological research at UBC, which grounds my practice in evidence-based approaches. I enjoy balancing the practical, straightforward quality of science and medicine with the intuitive, creative and relational art of psychotherapy.
I specialize in supporting:
Paramedics, dispatchers, healthcare workers and folks in STEM
Processing critical incidents, line-of-duty trauma, and operational stress injuries
Burnout, compassion fatigue, and moral injury
Returning to work after leave or navigating career transitions
Our work can focus fully on what you need to heal, recover, and move forward.
Taking the First Step
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big decision—that’s normal. If you’re curious how we might work together, I offer an initial consultation to see if it feels like a good fit.
You deserve a space where your experiences matter, where you are seen, believed, and supported. If you’re ready, I’d be honoured to be a part of your journey.
