Frequently asked questions.
What are the fees for your counselling service?
My Fee is $150 per 50-minute session and $230 for 75 minutes, following fee guidelines set out by the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)
This fee applies to either Talk or EMDR therapy. Registered Clinical Counsellors are covered under most extended benefits plans. Please check with your provider to see what coverage you have.
Do you provide Direct Billing?
At this time, I do not provide direct billing. I will provide you with receipts after sessions and you can submit them for reimbursement directly with your health benefits provider using my license number.
What can I expect in my first therapy session?
During your initial session, your therapist will usually ask about your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and your current concerns. This helps build a foundation for your treatment plan and allows you to start establishing a trusting relationship.
How long does therapy usually last?
The length of therapy varies depending on individual needs. Some clients may benefit from short-term therapy lasting a few sessions, while others might engage in longer-term work that extends over months or years.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share with your counsellor stays private, except in cases where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or as required by law.
How often will I attend sessions?
Most clients meet with their therapist weekly or biweekly, but frequency can be adjusted based on your goals and schedule.
What types of therapy do you offer?
At Wild Rose Counselling, my counselling approach is person-centred, relational and somatic, and trauma-informed. The modalities I draw from include:
Advanced Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP)
Internal Family Systems (IFS)

How do I know if therapy is working?
Progress is often gradual, but you may notice reduced stress or dysregulation, improved coping skills, and greater self-awareness. Your therapist will regularly check in on your goals and adjust treatment as needed.
